Introduction

The word love is diverse in meaning, and there are eight types of love according to the ancient Greeks. Its purpose depends on the context in which we use it. According to the ancient Greeks, the eight types of love are:

  1. Agape (Unconditional Love),
  2. Eros (Romanic Love),
  3. Philia (Affectionate Love),
  4. Philautia (Self-love),
  5. Storge (Familiar Love),
  6. Pragma (Enduring Love),
  7. Ludus (Playful Love), and
  8. Mania (Obsessive Love).

In this article, the love we are referring to is divine; it encompasses all except Mania, in a holy and acceptable manner, reference to the religious principles. At a global scale, we are people of equal destiny. Still, differences in the understanding of the divine principles differentiate between us (Romans 8:30). The Blood of Jesus justifies, redeems and glorifies us equally because we are citizens along with all of God’s holy people, members of the same household of God (Ephesians 2:19). The same Blood redeemed us as kings and priests to reign on the earth (Revelation 5:10). However, in actual life, we are a people of unequal destiny, living unique experiences because of a lack of understanding of the Godly principles, especially love.

Understanding love: What is love?

  1. To love God with all your heart, soul and mind; and to love your neighbour as yourself (Matthew 22:36-40).
  2. Loving whatever God loves (John 21:15-17, John 10:16, John 3:16). Loving what God loves the most is the salvation of the soul of men, a capital proof of our love for God.
  3. To live a Godly Kingdom lifestyle priority, placing God above all else, including one’s being (Luke 14:26-27). Love is giving your heart unreservedly to God (2 Corinthians 8:5, Matthew 6:33). If you put God first, and let every other thing to follow, He will add to your success realms beyond Solomon’s empire. There is no one operating in this realm that failure will ever brand.

The power of love

What is in love that engenders breakthrough in the adventure of life?

1. Love enhances access to Revelation (John 15:15).

Revelation is the platform for supernatural breakthroughs (Isaiah 60:1). What love does is to provide access to unlimited Revelation that provokes supernatural breakthroughs in our life journey. Love makes you God’s friend and gives you access to his heart. He reveals Himself repeatedly to those who love Him. Every Revelation is revolutionary (Isaiah 60:8), the Revelation turned them to high flyers, through its power accessible by genuine heart for God (Isaiah 60:22).

It was the secret of God available to Job that made him the greatest of all men in the east. Job trusted God, regardless of his circumstances (Job 13:15). A heart for God gave him access to the secrets of God that made a star out of him (Job 29:4)

You don’t beg to access Revelation; it naturally comes when you are genuinely in love with God. He unveils himself repeatedly. God reveals himself to whosoever He considers for his secret things (Deuteronomy 29:29).

You need not know any man, know God. The Lord ordains your path to shine more and more. So no better yesterday. You shall not borrow if you know and follow only God the Creator, because a borrower is a servant to a leader (Proverbs 22:7). You cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). It will surprise you this month if you love God. You will never let debt tap you anymore. No one will leave indebtedness for their children.

2. Love empowers our faith for maximum delivery (Galatians 5:6, 1 Corinthians 13:2)

Our faith will only work according to the level of love for God. Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8). It is a failure-proof virtue. The love of God at work in a man’s life launches him to a failure-proof realm of life. The Bible is so simple, but minds without Revelation miss its contents (John 2:7). I said, “we need wine,” You said, “fetch water.” What is the relationship between water and wine? If you do not fetch water; you will end up with no wine but shame, but with Revelation, you fill the water-pots with water without reasoning too much.

Do you want to experience a failure-proof life? Love the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind, for we know that all things work together for good to them that love God (Matthew 22:37, Romans 8:28). It does not work to them that come to Church; not preachers but to them that love God and do what He instructs them to do, to prove that they love Him.

You know some people can succeed in one area, but often fail in all other areas. God has a plan for you and me to enjoy breakthroughs in all areas. If you want a meaningful and impactful adventure in life, embrace the first and greatest commandments that makes men and women great in the Kingdom (Matthew 22:37-40). There are three ruling forces in the Kingdom of God: Faith, Hope and Love. The greatest of them is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

In 1984, when I was reading from Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 1: God said, “my son, there is a better place for you if you are interested.” I said: Lord, I am interested. God: Then whatever I tell you to do, do it. Please do not do what they do: do what I ask you to do. The same way this Church did not need any help to get to where we are, you won’t bow to any man to scale any height in your life. If I am the one to lift you, I can only take you to where my hand can reach, but the everlasting arm of Jesus can pick you up, scaling endless heights. I can not get you there. There is no help from the man under heaven that will compare to help from God.

3. Love speeds up answers to our prayers.

There is an unmatched value in love for God, for He will answer your prayers before you even pray, He will perform before you speak out. This will be your new realm. You think about something, and He does it without you saying anything.

There was an exciting incident in the life of David. He had an opportunity to stab Saul and kill him, but he did not do so. He showed love and forgave his enemy. This explains why David would receive answers before finishing his prayers.

God turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his ‘mocker’ friends (Job 42:10). They were adding salt to injury throughout his ordeal. They were holier than Job in their sight. In their eyes, what they could see was Job undergoing a punishment from God. People often despise and laugh at genuine people of God (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).

Our prayers for breakthroughs require love for delivery. If you want the way forward, forgive your offenders and pray with a clean heart. Don’t let their offence or your sins tie you down at the same spot. Let them go so you can go freely and earn glorious rewards from the Lord (Matthew 6:12, Psalm 66:18, Proverbs 28:13). Let go your mockers for you to rise to your next level in the name of Jesus Christ.

4. Love enhances access to wisdom from above (2 Samuel 14:20)

When Jesus returned to his hometown of Nazareth and taught there in the synagogue, everyone was astonished and said, “Where does he get his wisdom and his miracles?” (Matthew 13:54). Wisdom from above is not in powerful words only, but in the might works (Psalm 104:24).

The love of God in our heart gives us access to wisdom from the Lord, as Solomon did (1 Kings 3:3, 1 Kings 4:29-31,34). Mighty works validate knowledge from above. The wisdom from above is creative. Creativity will start manifesting in your life if you show genuine love.

The same way Abraham found the first cattle ranch business, God will show you something that the world around you has not seen. The same way, Isaac founded irrigation farming and became the greatest man among the Philistines, God will show you what next to do. The creativity of Jacob that could breed the cattle of his colour came from heaven.

Lift your right hand to heaven: ask for the grace to sustain your love for God.

  • “Lord, grant me the grace to possess a heart for you and maintain the same.
  • Help me love You till the end.
  • Come and take the central stage in my life.
  • Lord Jesus, be my reason for living.
  • Help me keep loving what you love most, both on the prayer altar, and outreaching to the lost.”

5. Love is the platform for all-round breakthroughs in life. Serving God makes Him take pleasure in your prosperity (Psalm 35:27).

Serving God and the interest of His Kingdom moves Him to take pleasure in your prosperity. We don’t sit down there, waiting for the favour, but engage in things that trigger favour, and that is what many people in our Church are enjoying today. You do not wait for healing when you are not in good health; you react to enforce your recovery right in Christ. When you see your life running out of favour, you respond by taking responsibilities on things that entreat His favour.

One day I asked, “Jesus, why is there no offering coming for planting this Church across nations.” It appeared as if He smiled and said, “Give me that car.” He pointed to my car, and joy welled up in my heart. I went to my wife to update her, “God asked for that car.” She proclaimed, “Praise the Lord, how much is the car”. I responded with Joy, “my heart gave it to the Lord out of Love”. Heavens received it, and a sworn blessing landed before selling the car for the Lord. Now, we have planted 7500 new churches, and four of which are in prominent places: Azare, Mubi, Biu, and Maiduguri.

6. If you take the challenge today, you will find favour and no enemy can stop your way up (Psalm 23:5).

You can not be in the Kingdom of God (seeking him and his interests) and not receive favour (Luke 2:49,52; Psalm 34:10; Matthew 6:33). Sacrificial investment of our financial resources in promoting the Kingdom procures blessing (Haggai 1:3-13). If you want to scale new realms of economic fortune, then learn how to invest your financial resources in promoting the interests of God.

Do not let anybody tamper with your relationship with God or discourage the steps you are taking. You have your own life to live and one by one, we shall answer back to God.

We have about 7,000 rural churches that God has given us the privilege to build, and anyone moved to join this noble cause will be welcome to take part. Where you are is not what matters, but what matters is where your heart is. How you look is irrelevant. If you are walking with Jesus, it must show in your life, and it will start showing from now because nobody can serve God at a loss. There was a man who built Jews a synagogue and received healing of his servant after showing his faith to Jesus (Luke 7:1-6). You win favour with God advancing His Kingdom. You will not miss God’s help when you need it.

Nothing flies like a favour. Daniel and his colleagues found favour with the chief of the eunuchs, that’s where their journey to strange heights began (Daniel 1:9). So when the King sought to kill all the wise men of Babylon, God’s favour gave Daniel, and his friends access to life through Revelation of the dream, and the King bowed down and worshipped him (Daniel 2:16, 19, 46). He exceeded the realm of the King. He excelled above the King, and that favour kept trailing him for 65 years. That’s how favour will re-package your life.

Where you imagine nobody knew you, they will send for you. They sent to one of our sons here, “we saw your CV on the website. You are a perfect fit for this opportunity.” International Job; no interview, nothing. “Your travel documents are available. Be on your way, you and your family.” Whether the picture he showed there differs from him or not! That is how favour found him; the blessing will find you (Psalm 44:3). We did not get our land by our strength, not by our might; we never raised an offering to buy the land.

Favour is following you home; favour is trailing your steps in the name of Jesus. What we know does not change us. It is what we do with what we know that does. Pray for the grace to be doers of the Word and not hearers only.

7. Love develops your understanding of the Divine kingdom

We need a working knowledge of the worth of our redemption to make the most of our adventure on earth. Isaiah 5:13, amplified version (AMP), “Therefore My people go into captivity [to their enemies] without knowing it and because they have no knowledge [of God]. And their honourable men [their glory] are famished, and their common people are parched with thirst.” The variable’ understanding of Godly principles’ is what defines our placement. Matthew 13:23 (AMP), “As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehend it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty.”

How many folds have you produced, or you are going to make after going through this article? Hopefully, you will understand the Word and reap something good enough. A man who wanders out of the way of understanding shall abide in the congregation of the spirits (of the dead). This explains why it is important to pray, citing Psalms 119:18, “Open my eyes to see the wonderful truth in your law”, (New Living Translation, NLT). Also, Joshua 1:8,(AMP) “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then, you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have success.”

If you understand what this book (The Bible) says to make your way prosperous, you will be super successful. It will keep the devil crying and weeping; all his agents sobbing and wailing. In their presence, your cup will run over. This is not Psychology, Philosophy or Management Expertise; you need to have a spiritual understanding of the Word to discern the secrets of the Holy Kingdom. Mark 4:11 (AMP), “And He said to them, To you has been entrusted the mystery of the Kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly], but for those outside [of our circle] everything becomes a parable.” Lack of understanding is the reason most people pray and pray for what God will not do.

Do not incline yourself to the running philosophy in our land, ‘who you know is what matters’ No. Who do you know that compares with knowing God? 2 Corinthians 5:16. Many people, including believers, are hunting for who to see, seek connections with the man and forget to seek God who matters most. Don’t send us anybody: send us help, oh God, for vain is the help of man (Psalm 60:11).

I pray that it shall be a month of destiny for every one of us. Light will break forth in the dark areas of your life. By your renewed heart for God, you will never lack the way forward any more in the name of Jesus.
